The Web Design Process
Below are ways to understand how the website design process works:
Step 1: Free Consultation
As soon as I receive an inquiry from you, I will contact you to set up an initial meeting. In that meeting, I will explain everything you need to know as well as understand your needs. For non-local clients, we can keep in touch through email and phone calls.
Step 2: Proposal
After the initial meeting, I will look into your needs, study your company background, the industry, your competitors, you target customers, and everything that is important. Then, based on the findings, I will work out a website plan and quotation for you.
Step 3: Signing Agreement
If you have any additional ideas for your website, let me know and we will work your ideas into the solution. If everything is fine, I will start building your website. Usually 50% of your total payment is due upon signing. (The balance is to be paid after the job is completed.) The agreement will have a breakdown of payment including domain registration and server hosting.
Step 4: Web Site Development
I will first design three different "mockups" of your website for you to preview. After you have chosen one and are satisfied, then I will insert you data.
Step 5: Web Site Review
After everything is completed, I will upload your web site to a "test" area on Huckleberrywebdesigns.com for you to preview. During this process your web site is tested to correct any mistakes or errors that may be reported.
Step 6: Web Site Release
Once you are 100% satsified with your web site, I will upload your final developed web site to your hosting server (one of your choice or based on my recommendation.) Depending on what Web Site Design Package you purchased, I will also submit your site to major search engines and directories (Altavista, Dmoz, Google, InfoSeek, Lycos, MSN, Yahoo!, WebCrawler) to achieve maximum exposure.
Step 7: Web Site Maintenance
I normally include a 1 month free web site maintenance for all clients. After that period, you may opt to retain my services to maintain your web site.
